About Us

Rubber baseball, also known as soft baseball or nanshiki baseball (軟式野球) in Japan, is a variant of baseball played with a softer, rubber-coated ball. Sharing many of the same rules and gameplay elements as traditional baseball, rubber baseball provides a safe, inexpensive, and beginner-friendly way of playing baseball. Michigan Rubber Baseball Club is dedicated to creating a vibrant and fun environment where the UM community can enjoy rubber baseball. Students will have the opportunity to play and practice rubber baseball while building friendships, teamwork, and community. We welcome students of all skill levels, from beginners to experienced baseball players.

Michigan Rubber Baseball aims to provide the community with a welcoming community and environment to play baseball. As a kid, I grew up playing rubber baseball before transitioning to normal baseballs. I strongly believe that rubber baseball can allow more members of our community to experience the sport in a fun, safe, and inexpensive way.

I started playing baseball in college, and I can barely throw 60 mph now, but with consistent practice, my pittching is getting faster and faster. You don't have to have former experience of baseball at all. As long as you love babseball, you're welcome. Please reach out to us anytime.

“Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.” Baseball taught me that every failure was a valuable experience, teaching me to learn from it and make my next swing more precise. With the courage to face failure, I stepped into the batter's box confronting each pitch fearlessly. I realized that it is the process of facing challenges and learning from failures that makes me stronger.
